Brooklyn, NY -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/15/2015 -- When Mark Heyer moved back to Green Point, Brooklyn, in order to pursue his career as an artist after a hiatus of some years, he found that the neighborhood was undergoing a metamorphosis.  His view of the Manhattan skyline was changing and would continue to do so in the future.  In order to preserve this view while he has the chance, Heyer is launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of several pieces of artwork related to the Green Point view of Manhattan.

Heyer recently left his job and home to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time artist.  In the past, his work was shown at Manhattan galleries such as O.K. Harris and Lohin Geduld. The view from his second-floor apartment on Oak Street is the inspiration for this new project, a view that will soon be obstructed by the construction of new buildings.  The project allows those who love Manhattan and Brooklyn to have a part in preserving the view and documenting the inevitable changes of the city's look.

The Kickstarter campaign, located at, offers pledge levels from $10 to $100 and perks including original art from the artist.  For more information on specific pledge levels and the associated perks with each, visit the Kickstarter page.
