Lauren Chagaris and Paul Nguyen want to scout three National Parks in the Northern Rocky Mountains to create a hands-on photography workshop. Their funding requirement for this project is $3,500.
Boston, MA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/18/2015 -- Boston-based photographers Lauren Chagaris and Paul Nguyen started their business BlueHour Photo Ventures with an extraordinary mission: They want to create affordable, hands-on learning opportunities for beginner and intermediate photographers in the most pristine natural environments around the world. Lauren and Paul want to set themselves apart by offering the widest range of destinations for their students at the most affordable prices of any photo workshop business.
BlueHour Photo Ventures had their first teaching experience in September, 2014 leading a group of five beginner photographers around Acadia National Park. Since then, they have already booked workshops to Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, South Carolina, Oregon and Washington. Before any workshop can happen, they need to scout the locations one year prior in order to familiarize themselves with the local landscape, flora, fauna, climate and lighting conditions. The duo is now looking to organize their next scouting trip in the Northern Rocky Mountains of Alberta, British Columbia, and Montana. Unfortunately, they can only make this workshop a reality through external funding.
By supporting this project, the backers will not only make it possible for Lauren and Paul to design and conduct these workshops with the highest level of professionalism, but could also create an opportunity for the backers themselves to be a part of the experience.
Lauren and Paul have recently started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for this project. Proceeds from this campaign will help them to meet the expenses of scouting Banff and Yoho National Parks in Alberta and Glacier National Park in Montana. Their goal is to design a cohesive educational experience for future photography workshops and tours in this region. The project offers rewards to their backers that include prints of images from the newly scouted locations and even discounted participation in the future workshops.
Highlighting the importance of funding for this project, Lauren says, "There are many other locations that we would like our clients to experience and photograph. However, we are limited by time, as we both have full-time careers that we cannot simply neglect if we want to eat and pay rent. Research and development of the workshops is absolutely key, and we would be able to do more of this if funded."
